MADISON, Wis. (AP) — State wildlife officials will offer a wolf tracking workshop in northwestern Wisconsin next month.
The session is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Crex Meadows Wildlife Education and Visitor Center just outside Grantsburg in Burnett County. Participants will learn tracking skills, including sign identification, understanding footprints and interpreting gait.
The agenda includes classroom lectures, outdoor field training and a free lunch. Anyone who completes the training qualifies to become a Department of Natural Resources volunteer carnivore tracker and can help agency experts as they complete carnivore tracking surveys.
Participants can register by calling 715-463-2739.
